History

Hello everyone! I am a Professional Mechanical Engineer, DJ/Producer, festival addict and insomniac from Vancouver, Canada.

I created the CoolFly after being fed up with the sun turning my tent into a sauna shortly after settling in for a nice, refreshing and well-deserved sleep.

As the years passed and I saw others suffering as I was, I realized that this is one of the greatest problems facing humanity today. I decided to bear the burden and solve this epidemic myself.

Over the years the CoolFly has transformed from a mishmash of emergency blankets draped over my tent, to the design you see here today.  

Prototype 1

 

This is where it all started - my backyard, Saskatoon SK, 2014. This was simply a proof-of-concept using emergency blankets.

This was the first version actually produced by the factory. There was lots of work to be done in terms of sizing.
